1989 Ford Mustang SSP Coupe

This 1989 SSP (Special Service Package) Mustang was originally in service with the North Carolina Highway patrol. It may have been used by another agency in the Winston-Salem, Greensboro area, based on evidence from holes in the console area and an AC upgrade sticker. NCSHP usually did not cosmetically alter vehicles in order to retain higher resale value.

This vehicle was originally a dark gray, unmarked unit. NCSHP did not upgrade to silicone hoses nor did they opt for post-mounted spotlights.

The current owner acquired the car from approximately the third or fourth owner in September of 2016. The vehicle was able to run but needed quite a bit of restoration. Work began around December 2018. The electronics in the car area are fairly period correct with a few upgrades.
