2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Coupe

  • Chassis Number: WP0AC2A93JS176163
The seventh generation of Porsche's perennial 911 sports car was designated 'Type 991', succeeding the Type 997, and was first introduced in September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It was the third all-new platform for the 911 since the original of 1963, the second being the Type 996 of 1999. The development was overseen by Porsche's Chief Designer, Michael Mauer and it was slightly larger than its immediate predecessor while successfully retaining the classic 911 appearance. Among the most significant updates was the change to its wheelbase, which increased in length by 100mm, and the new transaxle enabled the rear wheels to be relocated 76mm rearwards relative to the engine. These updates resulted in improved weight distribution and better cornering performance. Transmission options comprised six-speed or seven-speed manual gearboxes, with Porsche's dual-clutch (PDK) shift optional on the latter.

The flat-six engine was offered in three different capacities in the Type 991 (3.4-liters, 3.8-liters, and 4.0-liters) with power outputs ranging from the entry-level Carrera's 345bhp up to the Turbo S's 552 horsepower. Body styles included a coupe, cabriolet, and Targa, and variants included the GT3 and GT3 RS.

The Type 991 was revised and restyled for the 2016 model year, first introduced in September of 2015, and became the '991.2' in factory parlance. Turbocharged engines were now standardized throughout the range, with the Carrera and Carrera S employing a 3.0-liter unit, and a Turbo outfitted with a 3.8-liter unit. The 911 R limited edition model arrived a short time later, in March of 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show. The normally aspirated 4.0-liter engine from the 'old' GT3 RS was installed in the engine bay and delivered 493 horsepower to a new six-speed manual gearbox.

The Porsche 911 GTS was introduced in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, with an updated 911.2 GT3 version being shown in 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show. Internal friction was reduced resulting in improved throttle response, and the 4.0-liter flat-six engine had a 9,000 RPM redline. It had direct fuel injection and delivered 500 horsepower at 8,250 RPM. Transmission options included a manual or PDK dual-clutch gearbox. Compared to the 991.1, the rear spoiler was higher and located further back. An additional 'no cost' Touring package came standard with the comfort package and the manual transmission along with the deletion of the fixed rear wing, replaced by an electronically operated rear wing from the 911 Carrera GTS.

This particular Porsche 911 GT3 Touring was completed in September 2018 and finished in paint-to-sample color of Mamba Green Metallic. Optional equipment included a full-black leather interior with cloth houndstooth seat centers, an extended-range fuel tank, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), front-axle lift, and stain black-painted wheels. It also was given illuminated carbon fiber doorsill guards that display the letters 'GT' and an image of three pedals.

This Porsche was ordered through Porsche of North Olmstead Ohio and sold new to an individual from Miami, Florida. In 2021, the car was given a fresh set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. it currently has 2,483 miles on its odometer.
