This Auburn 8-98A Boattail Speedster rests on the shorter, 127-inch wheelbase and is powered by a 268 cubic-inch Lycoming inline 8-cylinder engine producing 98 horsepower and mated to a three-speed manual transmission. The early history of this Speedster is not known, but it may have resided in the collection of Adrien Hudler of Forest Grove, Oregon before joining the collection of San Rafael, California collector Walter Milani in the early 1960s. The Speedster was either restored just prior to arriving in Mr. Milani's collection or early after his ownership. A Swiss collector acquired it in 1989 and it would remain in Switzerland until being acquired by the current caretaker around 2019.By Daniel Vaughan | Jun 2022
