1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza Spyder

It is believed that this 8C 2300 Monza, built before the 1933 season, was sold new to French racer Jean-Pierre Wimille. Among the accolades achieved that year was a second in the Marne and Comminges Grand Prix. It entered new ownership who continued to race the Monza in 1934, with drivers Raymond Sommer, among others.

In July of 1935, it is believed to have set a number of Class D International speed records at Montlhery.

The 8C was later sold to a resident of Portugal and eventually ended up in Brazil during the second half of the 1930s. It competed in various Sough American events before it was retired and placed in storage.

In 1980, it was discovered by Colin Crabbe who brought it back to England where it was fully restored and ready in time for Crabbe to show the car at the 8C 2300's 50th-anniversary celebration. Following stewardship in the hands of Jeffrey Pattinson, it later entered the ownership of a German caretaker.
