1966 Alvis TF 21 Saloon

In the Fifties, Alvis initiated a one-model policy based on a 2993cc straight six-cylinder engine and chassis with hydraulic brakes and independent front suspension. Dubbed the TB21, it debuted at the Paris Auto Salon in 1955 to rave reviews. Four generations followed. Unfortunately, Alvis was dealt a series of blows - including the defection of its bodywork manufacturers; Tickford to Aston Martin and Mulliner to Standard-Triumph. Swiss firm Graber filled the void for a time with all bodies ultimately produced under license by Park Ward of London from 1958 forward. Production continued through July 1965 when taken over by Rover. A final 106 models were built by Alvis as TF21 models including a TF21 sedan, which was the last Alvis delivered in the fall of 1967.
