1962 Volvo P1800 Sport Coupe

Introduced in late-1961 for the 1962 model year, the P1800 was designed by Pelle Petterson, a Swede who briefly worked for Frua in Italy. Through 1964, bodies were made by Pressed Steel in England and assembled by Jensen; quality control issues caused Volvo to take over production of the cars. The sporty Volvo gained popularity from the TV series The Saint starring Roger Moore. The 1800 made use of existing Volvo components including a shortened Amazon chassis and suspension. Girling disc brakes were used up front (four-wheel disc brakes were added in 1970). This was the first car to use Volvo's 100 horsepower 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors. A total of 39,406 coupes were produced through 1972.

This car is fitted with unusual factory optional Robergel spoke wheels.
