1970 Lola T70 MKIII Spyder

From 1966 through 1969, the Penske/Donohue Team had at least five Lola T-70s. This MKIII roadster, sporting a 350 small block Chevy with 58mm side draft Webers, was used to win the 1967 US Road Racing Championship. The car, with Mark Donohue driving, finished first at Las Vegas, Riverside, Bridgehampton, Watkins Glen, and Pacific Raceways. It also finished third at Laguna Seca, but did not start at Elkhart Lake. It was also used for three races in the 1968 Can-Am, updated a bit to a MKIIIb nose, and was driven by George Follmer for the Penske team. It finished 16th at Elkhart Lake, 3rd at Bridgehampton and 6th at Mosport.

This car was used as a show car after the tub was bent in a collision at Mosport. It was shown by the Penske/Donohue team at the 1968 New York Auto Show. It was sold in 1969 to John Marr of Long Island, NY, and used as a street car. It remains very much the same as the day John bought it from Mark Donohue
