1963 Ford Thunderbird Navigation
Ford built 455 examples of its Thunderbird in 1963 with the Sports Roadster body, and of those, 37 were given the most powerful M-code engine. The Sports Roadster was introduced in 1962 and featured a removable fiberglass tonneau cover that fitted over the rear seats when not in use. It gave the appearance of a two-seater but when not in use, the two-seater could transform into a four-seater. Special badging and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels completed the package.
The 'M-Code' engine gave the 390 cubic-inch FE V8 engine a special intake topped by a trio of two-barrel carburetors, boosting output to 340 horsepower. This example came with nearly every other factory option including air conditioning, vacuum-operated power locks, power driver's seat, and power windows.
This example has been given a restoration and finished in its factory-correct colors of Rangoon Red over Pearl Beige.
