1923 Cadillac Type 61 Roadster

This 1923 Cadillac Type 61 V8 Roadster is powered by a 314 cubic-inch L-head V-8 engine with a single Cadillac carburetor and develops 60 horsepower at 3,000 RPM. There is a three-speed manual transmission and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. It is believed that this Cadillac may have been owned from new by silent movie star Ann Christy. She used the Cadillac on her ranch in Vernon, Texas, and one day, she got stuck in the sand and broke the clutch trying to get free. The car was sent to mechanic George Long for repairs, but befor it was fixed, Christy and her husband separated. The car remained with Mr. Long and in 1945, Christy's ex-husband surrendered the title to Mr. Long. Don Lee in California had put 4-wheel brakes on the car for Ms. Christy, and added chrome features.

George Long later sold the Cadillac to Mr. Paul Bush and it has remained in his collection ever since. The Cadillac remains in its original condition and is finished in blue with black fenders.
