1927 Automobiles Rally ABC Boattail Speedster

This 1927 Rally ABC has tapered-tail bodywork, a low chassis with an underslung rear axle, and Perrot-type brakes. The vehicle's second owner raced it shortly after the end of World War II in modified form. Beneath the lengthened bonnet was a 2.2-liter English Ford flathead V8-60 engine breathing through twin Stromberg 2-barrel carburetors and delivering an estimated 60 horsepower. At the front was a solid axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and Hartford Lever shock absorbers. At the rear was a Bugatti axle with leaf springs and Hartford shocks.

This Rally ABC was imported to the United States in 1997 and was given a restoration by Knute Kohlmann and fitted with a vintage 1960s Volvo four-speed gearbox.

In 2013, this vehicle completed the 1,000-mile California Mille.
