This Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider left the factory in December of 1971 finished in Giallo Fly (20-Y-191) over Pelle Nera (VM 8500). It was the 36th of 121 Spiders built and was a left-hand-drive example destined for the United States. It came with instrumentation in miles and air conditioning. It was delivered to Luigi Chinetti's Motors in Greenwich, Connecticut in February of 1972 and shown at the New York International Auto Show two months later.
The Ferrari was sold to banker and long-time Ferrari client Alfredo Ducato of Hillsborough, California on April 28th of 1972. It remained with him until his death in 1987. Mrs. Ducato sold the car through Walnut Creek Ferrari and Brandon Lawrence to Herb Boyer of Burlingame, California, three years after her husband's death.
In 1997, Mr. Boyer had the Ferrari repainted in its Giallo Fly by Bob Potts and the interior retrimmed in factory-correct Nero leather by Ken Neminick. In 2000, with fewer than 10,000 original miles on the odometer, the car was sold to Tom Knudsen of San Francisco, California. James L. Page of Boca Raton, Florida acquired the car in August of 2005.
With 12,775 miles on the odometer, the car was offered for sale in January of 2008 and subsequently acquired by Charles Yassky of New York, New York. It was shown at the Cavallino Classic Concours d'Elegance in Palm Beach, Floria on January 26th of 2008 where it received a Platinum Award. In April of 2008, it received its Ferrari Classiche Red Book certification, proving the car was true to its original specification. Following certification, Mr. Yassky partook in the Ferrari Factory 40th Anniversary Daytona tour from Maranello to Mugello, Italy.
The car was sold into the care of its current owner in 2008 with 13,020 miles. Currently, the car has 13,442 miles.By Daniel Vaughan | Jul 2021
