1984 Ferrari 400i Coupe

Ferrari introduced its 400 in 1976 at the Paris Motor Show and two versions would eventually be built, both with twelve-cylinder power with the early examples using carburetors while the later versions used Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection to comply with US emissions standards. With the fuel injection system, the model was known as the 400i. Revised camshafts, headers, and fuel-management system for 1982 raised output to a claimed 315 horsepower. More aerodynamic Vitaloni side mirrors were added along with front and rear fog lamps and five-spoke Cromodora light alloy wheels. The interior featured luxuriously padded seats flanking a center console with an array of controls.

Although the 400i was never officially sold in the United States, European examples did cross the Atlantic and were federalized by licensed importers.

This particular Ferrari 400i is finished in the factory shade of Grigio metallic paint finish over a cream and brown two-tone leather interior. It was sold new on June 11th of 1984 through Ferrari of Houston to an individual from Mexico City. The current caretaker acquired the Ferrari in December 1989. Currently, it has just over 10,300 original miles.
