This Ferrari 250 GT Series II wears coupe coachwork by Pinin Farina and is powered by a revised 'outside plug' 3.0-liter V12 engine offering 240 horsepower. The 'Series II' 250 Gt Coupes were produced for the 1960 and 1961 model year.
This particular example was completed on May 5th of 1960 and finished in a Grigio Milano exterior with a Connolly blue leather/vinyl interior. Two weeks after leaving the factory, it was sold by a dealer in Turin to a Mrs. Gabriella Chiora for 5,500,000 Lire. Its second owner acquired it in January of 1965, and it would pass through one more owner before it was imported to the United States in late July 1968. A short time later, it was acquired by Joseph Tourigny of Seattle, Washington. George E. Smith purchased it in June of 1975 for the sum of $2,500. While in his care, a restoration was performed and was completed by mid-1976, emerging with a Blu Scurro color scheme with blue leather upholstery.
In 2005, the car returned to Mr. Smith's garage for a leisure restoration that was performed in stages. The work was eventually completed in 2017 by Terry's Custom Auto Works of Seattle. The work included an engine rebuild, a Rosso Connolly leather interior by John Parkhurst, and an exterior repaint in Argento Nürburgring (101 C/36520) by Close Encounters of Issaquah. The Tipo 508 four-speed manual transmission was rebuilt with all-new synchros and paired with a new OEM-spec clutch, and flywheel. The drivetrain was finished with new differential bearings, driveshaft, and an upgraded pinion bearing. The disc brake system and Series II lever-action shock absorbers were also rebuilt. The electrical system was upgraded with a Roelofs Engineering Powermaster 90-amp alternator, starter motor, fuse/relay panel, and new electrical wiring throughout.
