1954 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith All-Weather Tourer

Rolls-Royce produced 1,783 examples of the Silver Wraith between 1946 and 1958 and many wore imposing, stately sedan and limousine coachwork. A few were given all-weather bodies including this one crafted by Freestone & Webb of London. C. Blevins Davis commissioned this open-top coachwork who enjoyed it at his estates in both Independence, Missouri and Colorado Springs. It was delivered new to Mr. Davis at his Glendale Farm in Independence in the autumn of 1954. A year later, for some unknown reason, the body was removed from its original chassis (number LCL29) to chassis number WLE27, on which it remains today.

The car was later owned by Patrick Murlowski of Minnesota, who advertised it for sale in 1967 and acquired by David Stockwell of Delaware. It was given a restoration during the late 1980s or early 1990s where it received its bright scarlet paint scheme with inserts of striped 'canework.' The upholstery was done in cream and scarlet leather.

This four-door convertible has voluptuous rounded curves, Silver Dawn-specification headlamps, side-mounted spares with streamlined covers, a second cowl and windshield for rear seat passengers, and burled walnut cabinetry with its folding writing tables. It has a modern power-operated, fully disappearing convertible top that when lowered, is hidden under a rear tonneau.

This Rolls-Royce originally wore a two-tone royal blue and black paint scheme.
