1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Navigation
The Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 was powered by a 4.4-liter V-12 engine breathing through three Weber carburetors and factory rated at 320 horsepower. Its elegant design and construction was courtesy of Pininfarina, with a low-slung fastback shape that was heavily inspired by the 500 Superfast and 365 California. Additionally, it was the first Ferrari grand tourer equipped with standard power brakes, steering, and windows, and a self-leveling independent rear suspension. The luxurious interior featured plush leather, veneered trim panels, air conditioning, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a radio.
This particular Ferrari is the 103rd U.S.-market example of the 365 GT 2+2 produced between 1968 and 1971. It left the factory wearing the same color combination it currently wears, of Rosso Nearco (2.664.032) over black leather (VM 8500). The car was delivered new to Bill Harrah's Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada, and later sold to Michael Curran of Denver, Colorado. It was owned by at least three collections in California between 1979 and 1998, by then showing approximately 61,000 miles and believed to be wearing its original paint and upholstery.
It spent some time in Japanese ownership before returning stateside, remaining in California until early 2014. By this point, under previous ownership, the rear fascia had been slightly modified, resulting in four rear taillights, as opposed to the standard six. By 2016, it had been refinished in dark blue while its original interior remained intact.
Ferrari dealer Miller Motorcars of Greenwich, Connecticut acquired it in 2016 and before it was displayed on its sales floor, the car was given a thorough restoration to peak mechanical and cosmetic condition, with expenses exceeding $260,000. It later entered the care of its current custodian.By Daniel Vaughan | Dec 2022
