1955 Kurtis Midget

This Kurtis-Kraft Midget racer is known as the Lloyd Rahn Dekalb Special. It has aluminum coachwork and is powered by a 110 CID Offenhauser overhead-cam four-cylinder engine with a Halibrand quick-change rear end.

Illinois racer Rex 'Squeaky' Easton campaigned this Midget racer on behalf of its owner, Lloyd Rahn, between 1957 and 1961 with over 20 victories, mostly in the Midwestern states. Easton earned runner-up status in the 1957 and 1958 United States Auto Club (USAC) National Midget Championships, as well as overall victory in the USAC Midwest Midget Championship the following year.

This 'Lloyd Rahn Dekalb Special' has been given a restoration to its race-winning specification and configuration with a period-correct maroon and white livery with hand-painted lettering and Dekalb sponsorship near its nose. The knock-off chromed steel wheels are wrapped with vintage-style Firestone Deluxe Champion tires.

Wearing badge number 044, it is an AACA-certified competition race vehicle.
