Car number one of four factory built, this Porsche 968 Turbo RS is the only 968 to ever take to the track at the 24 Hours of Le Mans doing so in 1994. However, the 968 was forced to retire after 84 laps due to contact, finishing 34th overall. This is the rarest Porsche RS ever made. With its advanced, highly developed, single turbo four-cylinder engine and rear-mounted 6-speed transaxle, the car was extremely powerful, exceptionally balanced, and fast on track.
The first car built in 1992, valued then at approximately $137,500. This 1968 saw its first race action in the ADFAC GT series in Europe when it was loaned to Team Joest for two races before they took delivery of their own 968. The 968 Turbo was returned to Porsche and sold to Thomas Bscher who painted it yellow and raced it at Le Mans with John Nielsen and Lindsay Owen-Jones. The car was campaigned in the IMSA Series by Lloyd Hawkins who repainted it back to factory red, with driver David Murry.
