1958 Victress C3 Navigation
Victress co-founder Merrill Powell's design of the C2 Coupe in 1954 and the larger C3 Coupe in 1955 are believed to be the first American-made fiberglass specials produced in coupe form. It is estimated that fewer than 40 Victress coupes were produced before the company and its molds were sold to LaDawri Coachcraft of British Columbia in 1961. This C3 body shell was purchased in the summer of 1958 by Ronald Clark of Dover, New Hampshire. It was built over the winter of 1958-59 using a highly modified 1939 Pontiac frame and six-cylinder motor mated to a manual gearbox. It saw several years of use with no paint. In the early 1960's it was painted its current Gemini Blue color and was enjoyed over the following 30 years. The car has been restored using a 1960 Corvette chassis, engine and mechanicals.
