2001 Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 Coupe

The Diablo replaced the aging Countach but its gestation was waylaid by Chrysler's 1987 acquisition of Lamborghini, and substantial modifications were needed to please the new management. Introduced in January 1990, the Diablo offered 200 mph plug performance thanks to its electronically fuel-injected 5.7-liter four-valve evolution of the iconic Bizzarrini-designed V-12.

Audi's acquisition of Lamborghini in 1998 provided the financial stability to ensure longevity and continual improvements. Among the plans were an all-new smaller model dubbed the Gallardo and a replacement for the Diablo called the Murcielago.

Prior to Diablo's production lifespan ending, Lamborghini introduced the Diablo 6.0, the definitive and final variant of the model. Nearly every body panel was restyled in carbon fiber with only the doors and roof remaining in metal. The chassis was reinforced with carbon fiber inserts, and the front suspension pick-up points moved to enlarge the pedal box. Mounted midship was the 6.0-liter engine which received a lighter crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, higher compression ratio, and less restrictive exhaust. Along with revised fuel-injection, output was now rated at 550 bhp. The tracks were widened, and the suspension was revised. At all four corners were phone-dial theme wheels first viewed on the Countach LP400S. The interior gained an AC system, extensive carbon fiber trim, and new seats.

This particular example is finished in Grigio Antares, is devoid of a rear wing, and was delivered on January 6th, 2001. It came into the care of its current ownership in 2021 and currently has less than 7,000 miles on its odometer.
