1959 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Roadster

This 1959 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider was completed on February 11,1959, as a left-hand-drive Touring bodied spider. Its high-performance twin-cam engine with dual Solex carburetors displaces 1,974cc had delivered 131 horsepower at 3,500 RPM. There is a five-speed manual transmission, an independent front suspension, and four-wheel drum brakes. It is believed that the Spider was delivered to the Hoffman Motor Car Company of New York.

By the 1980s, the car had accumulated less than 70,000 miles. In 2013, a comprehensive restoration began which included a full strip and bare metal repaint of the lithe Touring bodywork in the original color of Grigio Biacca. The interior was restored and re-trimmed in red, the engine was fully rebuilt, and the original bumpers and trim were retained and re-chromed. The mechanical components were restored to as-new condition. The restoration took three years to complete and has been driven less than 1,000 miles since that time.
