1935 Packard Twelve Navigation
The Packard Model 1207 was built on a 139.25-inch wheelbase platform and was offered with ten individual body styles, including the Convertible Victoria, priced at $4,790. This particular example was supplied new through the Zell Motor Company of Baltimore, Maryland. More recently, it received a Concours restoration with the work supplied by Bill Hirsch. Upon completion, the car earned a National First Prize Award with the Classic Car Club of America.
The Dietrich-designed coachwork is finished in a dark chocolate hue and has a tan leather interior and top. There are chrome wire wheels, dual side mounts, a trunk rack, and a Cormorant hood ornament.
After leaving Mr. Hirsch's care, the car passed through a series of owners before arriving in the care of its current owner.
The 473 cubic-inch L-head twelve-cylinder engine has a single dual-throat Stromberg carburetor and delivers 175 horsepower at 3,200 RPM. There is a three-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, and a semi-elliptical leaf spring suspension.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2023
