1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn Saloon

This 1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn Standard Steel Saloon was ordered new by A. Abouchanab Ltd. with a Black Masons exterior with Gold lines. The interior was done in Blue leather, and optional equipment included Marchal fog and spotlights, Marchal fog and spotlights, anti-theft measures on the mascot, radio, and license plate, 'highly polished' woodwork, and a rear bench seat lowered by two inches. Although Mr. Abouchanab lived in the U.K., the car was built with left-hand drive specifications.

By 1969, the car was in Carmel, California with Walter Becker, and in 1971, it was owned by Paul Woudenberg of Santa Monica. In 1975 it was in New York in the care of Eric Shrubsole. Lawrence Freeman of Los Angeles acquired the car in 1980 and it would remain in his care for the next twenty-seven years until its current owner purchased it.

The car has been repainted in its original color but with blue fine lines. The 4,566cc inline F-head six-cylinder engine has a single Downdraft carburetor and is paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The brakes are four-wheel hydraulic drums.
