1990 BMW E30 M3 Sport Evolution Coupe

This 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evolution is number 90 of 600 hand-built by BMW's Motorsport division and one of four sold new in Switzerland (two in black / two in red). Currently, it is in the care of its third owner and has resided in Switzerland since new. There are fewer than 78,000 kilometers on the odometer.

This BMW is powered by a 2,467cc DOHC inline four-cylinder engine with Bosch Electronic fuel injection and delivers 235 horsepower at 7,000 RPM. There is a five-speed Dogleg Pattern manual transmission, an independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. Optional equipment includes a rear sunshade, a sunroof, air conditioning, and M-branded leather Recaro seats. To save weight, the air conditioning system has been removed but remains (uninstalled) with the car.

The Sport Evo Edition received enlarged front fender openings to accommodate wider wheels and tires, and an adjustable front splitter and rear wing. The fog lights are replaced by ducts to cool the brakes. The only colors offered were Jet Black and Brilliant Red. There was a prominent plate identifying them as 'Sport Evo,' M branded driver's footrest, an illuminated gear knob, and an Alcantra-wrapped steering wheel. Most examples were done in standard cloth, and a few in optional leather.
