1996 Jaguar XJ-Sedan Sedan

The restyled 'X300' was introduced in September 1994 and was one of the final iterations in the evolution of Jaguar's long-running XJ6 series. The angular appearance of the outgoing XJ40 was replaced with more pleasing fluid lines of the Series III XJ6, finding more favor with the buying public. The boot (trunk) space increased to a capacity capable of carrying two sets of golf clubs, satisfying the requirements of many of its buyers. The previous AJ6 series engine was replaced by two six-cylinder 24-valve engines, designated AJ16, with 3.2 and 4.0-liter capacities. The tried-and-true twelve-cylinder engine grew to 6.0 liters and continued to power the XJ12 and Daimler Double Six models.

This particular Jaguar XJ6 is the top-of-the-line Vanden Plas (VdP) specification, complete with a slightly longer wheelbase, different wheels, extra chrome side trim, knurled front grille, and trunk lid chrome spear. The interior was more luxurious with extra legroom, contrasting piping, burled walnut picnic tables for the rear seats, and lambswool mouton carpets. The exterior is painted Jade Green over magnolia hides with contrasting brown piping and brown moutons.

This Jaguar XJ6 was delivered new in the northeast in the summer of 1996. Until recently, it remained in the care of its original buyer. During the first four years of its existence, it resided in Connecticut and added 12,000 miles to its odometer. It then traveled north to Brookline, Massachusetts. Each winter it was driven to Florida to avoid the cold northern climate. Since 2015, it has remained in Florida. Currently, it has 67,000 miles on its odometer.
