1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi Coupe

This 1998 Subaru Impreza, serial number 072, is one of 424 22b STis produced to commemorate Subaru's 40th anniversary as well as its 3 consecutive World Rally Manufacturer Championships from 1995-1997. It currently has 686 kilometers on the odometer. It was purchased new as a club racer by a doctor in the UK before being acquired by the current owner and imported to the United States in 1999.

This Subaru was built to compete at the 2000 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and it was driven during qualification and during the event by David Donner as Car no. 02. Approximately 2/3 of the way up the course, the car suffered a fuel pump failure, and received a DNF. Subaru's own race team was present at the hill climb and assisted in repairing the car.

This Subaru has been used as a dealership display since its initial competition. It wears its original World Rally Blue paint with No. 02 Pikes Peak livery. It has a two-tone Black and Blue interior with an added roll cage.

The car is powered by a turbocharged 2.2-liter flat four-cylinder engine delivering 280 horsepower paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. It rides on factory Gold 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, has a fire suppression system, factory bucket seats with Sabelt safety harnesses, upgraded headlights, and an STi carbon fiber strut tower bar. Braking is by four-wheel Brembo disc brakes with black calipers and drilled rotors. The interior has white gauge dials and a MOMO steering wheel.
