1899 Peugeot Type 26 Navigation
This 1899 Peugeot Type 26 Vis-A-Vis is powered by a two-cylinder, water-cooled engine producing approximately four horsepower. Automatic intake valves are used. The ignition system is the hot-tube design which antedates the use of spark plugs considerably. Another very unusual feature of this vehicle is the crossbar, two-handed steering mechanism in place of either tiller or wheel. The top speed was about twenty MPH.Source - Luray Cavern Museum
