1957 Porsche 356 A Navigation
This 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster was purchased by Paul Morantz in 1983. It is an original, matching numbers example powered by a 1,582cc overhead valve flat four-cylinder with a pair of Solex 32PB1C carburetors and delivering 60 horsepower at 4,500 RPM. There is a four-speed manual transaxle, an independent suspension, and four-wheel drum brakes. Priced at $2,995 when new, the Speedster was the lightest of the 356s and capable of achieving 100 mph. It was a successful combination of style, performance, and value.
This Speedster was delivered to the Krauss dealership in Nurnberg on July 25, 1957. On September 2nd, it was bound for Los Angeles, California, to be delivered to A.R. Lizardo.
This Porsche currently wears its factory-original Ruby Red exterior with a brown interior. It has been given a single professional respray during its existence and has recently undergone a comprehensive service.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2023
