1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale Coupe

This 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale was the 657th example built. The model had been introduced on October 30, 1957, at the Torino Motor Show, wearing curvaceous coupe coachwork that had been inspired by Bertone's aerodynamic coachwork bestowed upon the B.A.T. concept cars, and its competition-bred engine was derived from the Giulietta Sprint Veloce. The 1,290cc DOHC inline four-cylinder unit received twin Weber side-draft carburetors and produced around 100 horsepower at 6,300 RPM. It was paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes provided the stopping power. In the back was a live axle, with coil springs at the front and rear.

This example is believed to have been a European-specific Sprint Speciale that was imported to the United States by a prior owner. Substantial restoration work was performed in the 2010s. Much of the brightwork was re-chromed, and the engine reportedly received a partial rebuild, the brakes and suspension were refurbished, and the heater and fuel tank were serviced.

The current owner acquired the car around 2013.
