1970 Cadillac DeVille Series Convertible

Cadillac introduced the DeVille series in 1965 as a replacement for the outgoing Series 62 line. An all-new 472 cubic-inch V-8 engine followed in 1968, offering 375 horsepower and the performance to match the car's elegant appearance. A comprehensive restyling for 1969 with design cues sourced from the 1967 Eldorado, followed by detailed refinements for 1970, including a pair of narrow V-shaped taillights and a revised grille with 13 vertical blades.

This 1970 Cadillac DeVille Convertible is finished in Cotillion White with a matching white convertible soft-top and red upholstery. It was acquired new from Lindsay Cadillac of Alexandria, Virginia by Major General Floyd W. Baker, commander of the US Army Health Services Command in nearby Arlington. The list of factory options bestowed upon this vehicle includes the Soft-Ray glass, power-adjustable front seats, whitewall tires, automatic climate control, and Autronic Eye and Twilight Sentinel lighting systems.

When Mr. Baker's command was reassigned to Texas in the late-1970s, his DeVille Convertible followed him there. In 2009, the Baker family sold the car, and it remained within the care of its previous owner up until April 2023. Currently, this Cadillac has just under 33,400 miles on the odometer.
