1960 Auto-Union 1000 Sp Sedan

The Auto Union 1000 was a compact front-wheel-drive two-door saloon with coachwork by Baur in Stuttgart and was equipped with a 981cc three-cylinder, two-stroke engine paired with a four-speed column-mounted transmission. Produced between 1958 and 1963, it was the last Auto Union/DKW model produced at the Düsseldorf factory before production was moved to the company's new plant in Ingolstadt. The 1000 was replaced by the DKW F102 - the last model to wear either the Auto Union or DKW badges before the company was acquired by Volkswagen. The name 'Audi,' which lay dormant, was resurrected.
