    By 1910, employment at Packard Motor Car Company's East Grand Boulevard factory had grown from 250 to more than 6,000 people and vehicle production had increased from 250 to 3,084 units since the move to Detroit, Michigan from Warren, Ohio in October 1903.

    The Model 18 was slightly smaller and had less horsepower than Packard's more popular Model 30. Only 766 units were sold during the 1910 season, compared to the 2,493 Model 30's sold.

    The transmission and chassis were the same on all Model 30 and Model 18 body style except the runabout featured here, with a wheelbase of 102 inches.

    Engine: 4-cylinder T-head, 4 1/16 by 5 1/8 inches, 265.77 cubic inches, 18 French-rated horsepower at 650 RPM; Cooling: radiator capacity 4.5 gallons. Transmission: Dry plate clutch replaced expnading flywheel clutch.
