2003 Saleen S7 Navigation
Steve Saleen introduced the S7 in August 2000 at the Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca Raceway. More than just a road-going supercar, the S7 was endowed with Mr. Saleen's racing expertise, resulting in it becoming the winningest supercar-based racing vehicle of all time, chalking up an amazing record with 235 starts resulting in 118 Poles, 154 Podiums, 78 Wins and 10 GT Championships, including class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
A total of (approximately) 78 examples of the Saleen S7 were built, and this is the first of four naturally aspirated examples built with the optional 'Competition' Saleen Performance upgrade package, according to Saleen records. Wearing a carbon-fiber body, the race-spec chassis is powered by a 7.0-liter Ford V8 engine delivering 625 horsepower. There is a six-speed manual transmission and zero-to-sixty mph is accomplished in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph. The Saleen performance upgrade added a modified ECU, a new cam, exhaust and intake, and cost an extra $75,000 on top of the already high sticker price.
This Saleen S7 left the factory with optional chrome upgraded wheels, carbon-fiber body, remote door openings, factory rear wing, climate control, black leather with gray Alcantara throughout, and factory upgraded touchscreen sound system with rear camera. The exterior is finished in bright silver.
