1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

1960 was the final year of the 'Squarebird' design - the second generation of the Thunderbird that shed its original, first-generation two-passenger persona in favor of a more practical four-passenger seating under the direction of Ford chairman Robert McNamara. It was wide, low, and sleek that offered true 'personal luxury' transportation. The interior was sporty with standard front bucket seats and center console, and its big V-8 engine residing under the hood was plenty powerful.

Ford produced 11,680 convertible Thunderbirds in its final year of this design, and this particular example is finished in Moroccan Ivory with black and white interior upholstery. It carries a 352 cubic-inch V8 engine that offers 300 horsepower, and there is a Cruise-O-Matic transmission, power windows, power steering, and power brakes. Additional amenities include a push-button radio, chrome wire wheels with whitewall tiers, a power retractable top, and a Magic Aire heater/defroster.

This Thunderbird resided in British Columbia for several years, and currently wears an older cosmetic restoration. Its odometer displays 531 miles, likely since restoration.
