1947 Ford Super Deluxe Navigation
The Sportsman was an upscale convertible coupe body covered by mahogany-veneer inserts surrounded by genuine maple or birch framing. Built in limited production numbers and priced at over $2,000, the Sportsman was intended to compete with Chrysler's highly successful Town and Country. Across three years of production, Ford produced 3,692 examples of its Sportsman.
This particular 1947 Ford Sportsman spent much of its life on the West Coast. It was given a full restoration in the mid-200s with the work being completed in 2007. It earned a Dearborn Award for superior originality, restoration excellence, and drivability in June 2007. In January 2008, it was acquired by its current caretaker.
This 1947 Ford has a Maize Yellow exterior with a correct tan soft-top and stunning Golden Tan interior. It rides on period Firestone whitewall tires wrapped around body-matched painted wheels.
