1924 Ford Model T Runabout

Ford introduced the Model T in 1908, and it quickly proved successful due to its simplicity, affordability, and durability. Its use of vanadium steel alloys made it stronger, tougher, and more wear-resistant while weighing less than competitors. With the added benefit of the assembly line, the Ford Motor Company kept the Model T in continuous production for 19 years. It became an integral component to many industries and families who relied on them for transportation and rightly earned the title of 'The most influential car of the 20th century,' with sales exceeding 15,000,000 by the end of production in 1927.

The Ford Model T Runabout was considered the 'sporty T' courtesy of its streamlined all-steel, two-door body. This example wears the mandatory Black paint and is upholstered in the correct 1924 black leather interior. The 176.7 cubic-inch-head four-cylinder engine produces 20 horsepower and is paired with a two-speed planetary transmission. There is a solid front and live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs. Two-wheel mechanical drum brakes provide the stopping power.
