1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Navigation
Ferrari produced 121 examples of the 365 GTB/4 in Spider configuration. This particular Daytona Spider is the 44th of the 121 cars built by the factory. This U.S.-market car was completed in June 1972 and is notable as one of five examples originally finished in green. Factory records stte the color as Verde Scuro (Dark Green), while Luigi Chinetti Motors notes a shade of Verde Bahram, a dark metallic green.
This Ferrari was given optional Borrani wire wheels, instrumentation in miles, and Borletti air-conditioning. It was imported into the United States by official distributor Luigi Chinetti Motors in Greenwich, Connecticut, and delivered to one of the North American Racing Team (NART) drivers, John 'Buck' Fulp Jr. of Anderson, South Carolina.
Taking delivery of the Ferrari in 1972, Mr. Fulp retained the car for a few years before trading it back to Chinetti, who resold 15277 to a customer on Long Island, New York. The new owner had the car sent to Italian car specialist Joe Nastasi for a repaint in black. The Ferrari was used sparingly over the next four decades, remaining in the care of its second owner until 2014, when it was acquired by a Greenwich-based owner. This new owner had the color returned to its original shade. At the time, the car had covered 7,000 miles from new.
The car wore its original Verde Bahram livery by 2015 and it has been shown selectively, appearing at that year's Greenwich Concours d'Elegance and, more recently, at The Bridge on Long Island.
This Ferrari currently has 7,819 miles on its odometer. It has its original leather upholstery, carpets, and 'mouse fur' dashboard flocking.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2024
