1965 Huffaker Genie MK10 Roadster

This Can-Am race car was originally owned by Dan Blocker, perhaps better known as Hoss of TV's Bonanza fame. Nicknamed 'Vinegaroon,' because of its coloring, the car was campaigned by the Nickey Chevrolet racing team during the 1965 and 1966 USRRC and 1966 Can-Am inaugural seasons. Driven by John Cannon, the 'Vinegaroon' took second in the 1965 Nassau Tourist Trophy race and won the April 1965 USRRC race at Stardust Raceways in Las Vegas. In Can-Am, driven by Bob Harris, the car finished fifteenth at St. Jovite and eleventh in the season-ending Stardust Grand Prix.

The car was built by Joe Huffaker for Dan Blocker Racing. The sponsor of this car was Nickey Chevrolet. In mid-1966, Bob Harris, a noted Hollywood stuntman, took over the Vinegaroon driving duties. The car was campaigned in the remaining USRRC races that year and participated in the inaugural 1966 Can-Am season.

The car passed through three owners before being discovered by Floyd Sable in Eden Prairie, MN. The car's restoration began with the classic 'found in a barn' story. The restored racer (which took eight years to complete) debuted at the 1998 Brian Redman International Classic. Tom Stephani, son of the original owner of Nickey, purchased the car in 2003 and campaigns the car in vintage races nationwide. The team was awarded the 2005 Historic Can-Am Celebration Cup.
