1971 Jensen Interceptor Navigation
One of 13 Jensen Interceptor FF Mark III cars, the Ferguson Formula AWD system broke new ground 14 years before the Audi Quattro. Restored at the factory works in 1991 and acquired from Jensen expert Mike Lotwis in 2006, this Jensen is in a collection with three other Interceptors. The 1991 restoration was comprehensive and remains attractive today. Power comes from a 6.2-liter 383 cubic-inch Mopar V8 backed up by a Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission. The Maxaret anti-lock brakes and anti-wheel spin Ferguson Formula relies on torque measurement rather than wheel sensors and was the subject of a successful lawsuit by Harry Ferguson (of Massey Ferguson fame) against Henry Ford.
