1957 Porsche 356 A Navigation
The Porsche Speedster was introduced in 1955 as a 1955 model. The brainchild of New York-based foreign car impresario Max Hoffman, the roadster had a pair of side-curtains and a folding fabric top. Devoid of nearly every amenity, it was attractively priced at under $3,000.
This particular example, chassis number 82942, left the factory wearing an Aquamarine Blue exterior over a Beige leatherette interior and was equipped with the more potent 1600 Super engine. It had USA bumpers and sealed-beam headlights.
This Porsche 356 A 1600 Super Speedster by Reutter was built on January 28, 1957, and distributed through dealer, Max Hoffman of New York. It was later brought to the West Coast, where it was acquired by the current caretaker in 1990 from Classic Motorsports of Santa Rosa, California. By this point in history, the Speedster wore a black exterior with a black interior. From 2015 to 2017, the car was given a complete 'nut and bolt' restoration to its present configuration.
