1960 MG A Navigation
When the MGA was met with performance competition from its larger-engined contemporaries, MG responded with the introduction of the Twin-Cam in 1958. The engine received a high-compression aluminum cylinder head with dual-overhead camshafts, and four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes complemented its increases in performance. Output reached 108 hp at nearly 7,000 RPM, and top speed was north of 110 mph. Proving its potency, the Twin-Cam earned class victories at Sebring and Le Mans.
This particular Twin-Cam Roadster is a late-production example that was completed on June 22, 1959, and wore an Old English White exterior over Red Trim. A comprehensive, three-year restoration began in 2021 and was completed in June 2024. The engine was initially rebuilt by Rick Bennett of Chardon, Ohio, before being reexamined and reassembled by Jim Steck of AutoComponenti in Brookville, Ohio.
