1985 March 85C Navigation
One of the most famous moments in Indianapolis 500 history came on lap 120 in 1985 when Danny Sullivan drove beneath Mario Andretti in turn one to grab the lead and then promptly spun across the south 'short chute.' Andretti responded by making an evasive move to the inside and retook the lead as Sullivan's March 85C completed a one-and-a-quarter revolution before recovering. Amazingly, Sullivan tried the exact same move in the exact same place 20 laps later, this time successfully, and drove on to victory, putting the phrase 'spin and win' forever in the Indy 500 lexicon.
