1960 Chrysler 300F Convertible

The Chrysler 300F of 1960 represented a major departure from the previous 'letter cars,' shedding the prior body-on-frame construction in favor of a unibody design. The spacious interior had seating for four with leather-covered, contoured bucket seats which was another first for the letter series. The front chairs swiveled to aid ingress and egress. The full-length center console housed a large tachometer, power window controls, armrests, storage compartments, and an ashtray. Space Age switchgear resided within the futuristic AstraDome instrument panel, along with a 150-mph speedometer illuminated by Panelescent Light, an innovative feature that emitted a soft green glow that was easier on the eyes.

The 413-cubic-inch Golden Lion V-8 engine used Chrysler's all-new, NASCAR-inspired Ram-Tuned Induction system and produced 375 horsepower and 495 pounds-feet of torque.

The 1960 Chrysler 300F was the most expensive letter car to date, with a base price of $5,841. A mere 248 examples of the 300F Convertible were built for 1960.

This particular 300F wears an older restoration and is finished in Alaskan White over a tan leather interior.
