1948 Chrysler New Yorker Navigation
Chrysler introduced the Town & Country in 1941 as a combination of sophistication and utility. The body featured structural white ash and Honduran mahogany with artisanal touches as exposed finger joinery and complex contours. The wheelbase measured 127.5 inches, and the engine was a 323.5 cubic-inch eight-cylinder unit paired with a Fluid Drive semi-automatic transmission.
This 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Town and Country Convertible was offered for sale in 2024 by RM Sotheby's at their auction held in Hershey, PA. This represented the first time in 25 years that it was up for sale. It wears a black paint scheme with a Highlander upholstery package of blue vinyl with red tartan fabric inserts. Period amenities include a push-button radio, clock, automatic heater, dual spotlights, dual sideview mirrors, and clear fog lights.
