1967 McLaren M6A Spyder

  • Chassis Number: M6A-03
This is one of three M6As built for the 1967 Can-Am season and sold to Penske Racing. During the 1968 Can-Am season, it was fitted with the big block 725 horsepower Chevrolet 427 engine and raced by Penske's Mark Donohue, winning round two at Bridgehampton on Long Island, a second at Riverside, and third-place finishes at Road America and Edmonton. The car was good enough for third place in the lucrative Can-Am Championship behind the McLaren factory team of Denny Hulme and Bruce McLaren.
