1942 Chrysler Windsor Town and Country Barrelback Wagon

This Chrysler Town and Country is one of 999 Barrelback station wagons produced in 1942, and it wears a handcrafted exterior with intricate wood joints intertwined with Honduras mahogany woodwork sourced by Pekin Wood Products of Helena, Arkansas. This example was acquired by F.G. 'Tim' Burton in 1968 and remained with his family for 57 years. It wears a rare color scheme known as Palace Brick Brown, while the seats are upholstered in red leather with the correct woven material inserts. Exterior accouterments include fog lights, a driver's side spotlight, and a roof rack. The 241.5 cubic-inch L-head inline six-cylinder engine has a single Carter downdraft carburetor and produces 108 horsepower at 3,600 RPM. There is a four-speed Vacamatic Drive Semiautomatic transmission and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
