1967 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Navigation
A mere 3,127 examples of the well-equipped Mercedes-Benz 300SE were built at Sindelfingen in coupe and convertible form over its six-year production lifespan. These handcrafted luxury automobiles were bestowed only the best materials, and this was reflected in their base price, selling for nearly $13,000, making it the most expensive Mercedes-Benz sports-luxury model of the day. The fuel-injected six-cylinder engine enabled a top speed of approximately 120 mph, and the advanced air-suspension system guaranteed an unparalleled driving experience.
This particular 300 SE Cabriolet wears a Light Metallic Blue (DB 353G) exterior with a Dark Blue full leather interior, and a Dark Blue canvas top and boot. Its three-year restoration was performed by Robert Platz of Precision Autoworks in Camden, New Jersey, with the work commencing in 2008.
The 2,996cc SOHC inline six-cylinder engine has a BOSCH Mechanical fuel injection system and produces 195 horsepower at 5,500 RPM. There is a four-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel disc brakes. The front suspension is independent with double wishbones and air springs, and the rear uses a swing-axle with air springs. Among its accessories are a five-piece set of fitted Hepco luggage and a tool kitBy Daniel Vaughan | Oct 2025
