1913 Stutz Series B Bearcat Runabout

    1913 Stutz Series B Navigation
This 1913 Stutz Bearcat sold new for $2,300. The distinctive bark of the Stutz Bearcat's 4-cylinder, T-Head, 50-horsepower engine was as distinctive in its day as the Harley-Davidson is today. Harry Clayton Stutz, at the age of 21 in 1897, built a single-cylinder car in his backyard, and arguably, the pinnacle of his company's production and prowess occurred in 1913. The Stutz Motorcar Company's famous slogan of 'The Car That Made Good In a Day' came from its highly successful racing history that year, as evidenced by the Bearcat's third-place finish in the 1913 Indianapolis 500 race.

This Bearcat was completely restored by noted Stutz historian Paul Freehill in 1998 after having been purchased from a private collector in Kentucky.
