1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato Navigation
One of 169 'round tail' cars, the Sprint Zagato was created by mating a lightweight aluminum body from the Italian design firm of Zagato with the mechanicals of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce. Alfa Romeo factory archives have confirmed that this car was manufactured on February 6th of 1961, and that it was sold on May 2nd of 1961, in Turin, Italy. The car was owned by Edoardo Genuizzi and was raced by Causio and Serena, the president and vice-president of the Italian Racing and Sporting Association. In the 1980s, the car was prepared by Chiapparini of Milan and won the Three Hours of Magione with the above-named drivers. The car was eventually sold to Dario Luraghi, a member of the family of the president of Alfa Romeo. Luraghi had the car completely restored to its original condition.
The Giulietta Sprint Zagato was created by mating a lightweight aluminum body designed by that venerable firm with the mechanicals of a standard Giulietta Sprint Veloce. This car is 1 of 169 'round-tail' cars produced and is powered by Alfa's 1.3-liter, DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine capable of 110 horsepower. Its original owner was Edoardo Genuizzi, and it was raced in period by Causio and Serena, the president and vice president respectively of the Italian Racing and Sporting Association.
