1967 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Navigation
This Bizzarrini 5300 GT America is one of seven fiberglass-bodied cars out of approximately 100 cars produced in this body style by both Iso and Bizzarrini.
Engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, credited with designing the Ferrari 250 GT in 1961, joined the Iso Company in 1964 to develop the Iso Rivolta, Grifo and the A3C. The A3C was renamed Bizzarrini 5300 GT when engineer Bizzarrini was given the parts and rights to produce these cars as part of the settlement upon his departure from Iso in 1965.
The Iso A3Cs and Bizzarrini 5300 GTs were widely raced and were entered in the 1964 and 1965 LeMans 24 Hour, the 1965 Nurburgring 1000, and the 1965 Sebring. They achieved a LeMans class win in both 1964 and 1965, a 9th overall in 1965, and at 160 mph, were one of the fastest cars on the famed LeMans Mulsanne Straight.
