1931 Chrysler CD-8 Le Mans Roadster

  • Chassis Number: 1D1 601R 7515256
The Chrysler CD-8 featured split windscreens, an eight-cylinder engine, and a four-speed manual gearbox. Hydraulic brakes could be found on all four wheels.

In 1931 a Chrysler CD-8 was entered into the 24 Hour at LeMans race by a renowned French pilot. He lasted 14 laps. The following month he entered the Belgian Spa 24 Hours and finished first in class and 3rd overall to an SSK Mercedes-Benz and an 8C Alfa Romeo.

That car is long lost. In the early 1990s this car was restored to Raymond Sammer's specification.
